sisters reunited at last...

the glare is in her eyes...
oh my sweet, sweet sister. how wonderful it was to see her this morning. (we were stranded at the airport for some time, but we made it!!!) she gave my eyeball a big, slimy kiss and wagged her tail until i thought it would fall off.
i mean, sure, i was very, very excited to see my parents. but i have been dreaming about sophie's little snoot for many weeks.
sophie supports everyone in the family at all times. she does not like disagreements, and always shows her affection. she is the best sister i could have ever asked for.
thanks, mom and dad.
ps - she has a toenail that grows the opposite way and curls up, but please don't remind her, should you see her over this holiday season.

things i did today...

1. looked at this picture and remembered what life was like 3 years ago.
2. ate 3 handfuls of peanut m and m's when i only intended to eat 2 handfuls.
3. drank a latte and felt like i was going to bounce out of my skin.
4. witnessed someone crying.
5. laughed really hard at an inappropriate joke.
6. delivered a pair of boots to a pervus.
7. pushed an empty wheelchair.
8. was told i was dressed like an elf by my husband and co-worker, on 2 separate occasions, i interpreted both as compliments.
9. made a haircut appointment for someone other than myself.
10. annoyed my boss by rubbing my shoes together.

what did you do today?

nervous pervi

http://robert.accettura.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/20090117_super_mario_brothers_js.png
notice nervous pervus is now plural...

sandie, this is your second shout out oddly, but....

justin and i are currently playing super mario brothers on the lap top.

yes friends, we have come to this. where does this shout out for my aunt sandie come in, you might ask? she loved super mario brothers when i loved them at age 8. my family bought my aunt sandie a nintendo as she was in school getting her master's degree. whenever i slept over, we would play nintendo. i never rescued the princess, but sandie did.

these levels hold a lot of nostalgia. they also make me want to pee my pants with anticipation. hopping over the dragon, eating "fast" points, going down the green tubes to other levels, not falling between the cracks...

dear colleges,
please call my nervous pervus and offer him a job before we rescue the princess.
xo,
kaye

ps- for those of you who are looking to buy us a christmas present...nintendo.

ugh...

well, readers, it has been awhile since i posted last. this is mainly because i have been sleeping my ass off and justin (my nervous pervus) has been not hearing from any schools. *note* i only slept my ass off yesterday and today, and i earned this because i did not sleep much all week due to a busy schedule.

my nervous pervus has been moping around the house with his sad face on the entire week. albeit, i completely understand his frustrations and probably would have broken out in some kind of incurable rash if i were in his situation. (we can talk more about incurable rashes some other time, because yes, i do have stories...)

so, in lieu of the nervous energy swirling around our little minds, yesterday i declared, "pull up the movie times, we are going to a movie!"

let me just say, best movie ever... New York, I Love You

do go and see it this holiday season. we loved it so much we decided we would buy it when it comes out. i judge movies based on the emotional snap factor...at the end of the movie i had become a bit weepy when, BAM!!! i was laughing really hard. now that, is talent.

we stopped at cvs on our way to buy one snack each...justin, box of reeses pieces, and me, bag of sour patch kids (i wanted that numbing feeling and phlegm created by these delicious treats). justin was very concerned about being caught smuggling in our treats..."make sure to lay your scarf over the treats once we get inside", said pervus. i reminded him that no one cares and that seemed to solve our dilemma. i am surprised justin did not suggest that we stick our treats into balloons and swallow them, making a quick stop in the bathroom before showtime...

today, we return to sitting on pins and needles.

ps - katie k., we are going to make the nuts.

my little italian chef

sure, not the most becoming photo of "papa justin" (papa, as in italiano, not freudian), but this was the only one of him on his computer, which, i am currently using.

papa justin made lasagna (altered from my mom's recipe to be all veggies...no, we are NOT vegetarian) this afternoon while i was busy bringing home the bacon bits as i like to refer to them. whatta guy!! all i have to do is pop it in the oven when he calls to tell me, "pop it in the oven!" i prefer this role as "line chef" very much. papa justin ALWAYS has dinner on the table when i get home from work. truly amazing and sooo appreciated.

p.s. this photo was taken almost 2 years ago when we went to michigan for a grad school graduation getaway, pour moi. please read this post soon before papa justin erases this photo!!

what the newlyweds should make this holiday...

jam? we are too scared to take on the responsibility of sanitizing the mason jars...

http://www.treehugger.com/home_made_jam.jpg

after coming to the conclusion that we are not ready for the above responsibility, i suggested chocolate covered pretzels...

http://www.nutsonline.com/images/items/g405.jpg

k: we could make chocolate covered pretzels!
j: what? (giggling uncontrollably)
k: what's so funny?
j: we could buy them, too!...IMPORTANT NOTE: i thought justin said, "one, or two?" in which i imagined justin wearing a hairnet, holding tongs, asking my aunt sandie, or his uncle tom, whether they would like "one or two" chocolate covered pretzels.

back to the drawing board. any ideas???
